We like to pretend.
That’s there’s time.
Time to follow our hearts; time to fulfill our dreams.
Time to connect and catch up; time to mend the fence.
Time to write the book; time to make the art.
Time to launch the business; time to share the message.
But.
There is no time.
All we have is now.
Tomorrow is promised to no one. And no one gets out alive.
So then.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” the poet Mary Oliver asked.
What will you do today?
Love it!
5 min with Walt. I loved hearing your brief explanation to why you climb.
I have thought more than once that I would like to climb a mountain with you and Ann.
I love Mary Oliver’s poetry. I didn’t know until you mentioned it that she passed!
What she did with her one wild and precious life!
That line has spurred me on for years.
Thanks Walt.
That Oliver line has been a constant companion… and yes, what a life she had.
We will need to climb that mountain. For schizzle.
