Dan was the state marshal at a court house I worked in frequently.
I slid my trial bag onto the x-way conveyor belt, and walked through the metal detector.
“Hey Dan, how are you?” I asked.
Dan shook his head and, with his shoulders drooped, looked down at the floor before responding.
“One day closer to the weekend,” he answered.
It was Monday.
Steve Jobs once said, “For the past 33 years, I’ve looked into the mirror each day and asked myself this question: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
We have the opportunity, perhaps even the responsibility, to co-create these magnificent things that are our lives… to craft them in a way that brings us joy.
Is it time to change something?
Hi Walt,
I do enjoy your weekly posts and this week in particular it did resonate with me so I hope you don’t mind but shared it on FaceBook. As a lawyer it did occur to me that I am one of those weekend to weekend sort of people and thanks for pointing that out. I hope that at some stage there will be another Law Society Finuas Course in Dublin which is where our paths first crossed. One of the best CPDs I’ve done in 27 years of practice. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Health and Happiness
