The new toilet arrived. It wasn’t the “right” one. I sent it back.
I’m going to need to live with this toilet for a long time. I didn’t want to settle.
Settling is bad.
And yet, I’m betting that you settle (at least from time to time)…in myriad circumstances… for a meal that isn’t right, in a job that sucks your soul, in a career that dulls your heart, in a relationship that kills your spirit, in surroundings that fail to bring you joy.
You settle because you don’t want to be disagreeable. You don’t want to make waves.
You tell yourself that you’ll be ok… that you can get by.
And sometimes you just need to get by… for a bit.
But when you settle, you dishonor that spirit within you that wants for more. And you deserve to want for more.
Your hopes and dreams and aspirations; the deepest longings of your heart… those are the calls of the Spirit within you. Listen to them.
